Overview
Our area, Konan City in Kochi Prefecture, offers various industries include agriculture, forestry and fisheries. This city is about 30 minutes by car from Kochi City (the capital of Kochi prefecture), and accessible from Kochi Ryoma Airport.
Konan city is facing the Pacific Ocean and located in the subtropical climate zones. Within the warm climate, our city has been planting the various agricultural production in the green houses since many years ago. The main items are, Chinese chive, which is the top production in Japan, and flowers, greenhouse oranges, melons, eggplants, cucumbers, and fruit tomatoes.
About our Organization
“JA(Japan Agricultural Cooperatives) the Maruka Branch of the Flower Subcommittee in the Kami District of Kochi Prefecture”, the farming area is approximately 1.4 hectare (3.5 acre).
In the warm climate, we has been supplying mainly Lisianthus for 30 years, and recently we are also producing Helianthus annuus and Bupreuram.
Eustoma (Lisianthus), many colors are available, white (most popular), pink, lavender, yellow, green, and brown. More than 40 varieties are cultivated in this area.
The production season is from the beginning of November to the end of June.
Those flowers are decorated in the ceremonial occasions, and also make people happy for their lives and become flower gifts in many situations.
In addition, we are actively engaged in exporting business via Naniwa Flower Auction!!
